The Jarabacoa Mountain Festival celebrates the Dominican Republic's mountainous interior and its growing adventure tourism scene. Jarabacoa, known as the "City of Eternal Spring" for its cool climate, is the gateway to Pico Duarte (the Caribbean's highest peak) and some of the best outdoor adventures in the country.
The festival includes guided hikes to waterfalls, white-water rafting on the Río Yaque del Norte, mountain biking trails, paragliding, canyoning, and eco-tours. It's a perfect showcase for a side of the Dominican Republic that many tourists never see.
