Check-In Process

• E-Ticket (mandatory): Complete the Dominican Republic E-Ticket at eticket.migracion.gob.do within 72 hours before arrival. Save the QR code to your phone or print it.
• Immigration: Present your passport and E-Ticket QR code. Tourist stays of up to 30 days are granted on arrival for citizens of the US, Canada, UK, and EU countries. No separate visa purchase is required.
• Baggage claim: Follow signs to the baggage hall and locate your flight on the display boards. Luggage carts are available free of charge.
• Customs inspection: Pass through the random inspection system (green light = proceed, red light = bag inspection). Declare valuable electronics and items exceeding duty-free limits.

• Complete your E-Ticket before arrival. This is the single most important step. Have the QR code ready on your phone with screen brightness turned up.
• Remember the open-air design. The airport does not have full air conditioning in all areas. Dress comfortably and stay hydrated, especially during summer months. Bring a light rain jacket as walkways can be exposed during tropical showers.
• Arrive extra early during peak season. December through April sees massive passenger volumes. Allow 3.5 hours before your flight, and even more during holiday weeks.
• Book resort transfers in advance. Pre-arranged transfers are generally more reliable and better priced than negotiating at the airport taxi stand.
• Save room in your carry-on for duty-free rum and cigars. Dominican rum and cigars make excellent souvenirs and the duty-free prices are competitive. Pack them carefully to avoid breakage.
• Reconfirm your flight 24 hours before departure. Especially during hurricane season (June–November), flights may be adjusted.
