+

Playa Nizao is a wild beach located near Baní on the south coast, close to the famous Dunas de Baní sand dunes. The area is about 1.5 hours from Santo Domingo by car. The surrounding landscape features an arid, almost desert-like terrain that is unique in the Dominican Republic, with cacti and dry scrub vegetation leading to the beach.

Is Playa Nizao good for swimming?

+

Playa Nizao has open ocean exposure with moderate to strong waves that require caution. The beach is not protected by a reef, so currents can be present. Can I visit the sand dunes near Playa Nizao?

+
