Playa Alicia is a newer, more refined beach just west of Sosua Beach. Recently developed with a boardwalk, manicured sand, and upscale beach clubs, it offers a more relaxed and cleaner alternative to busy Sosua Beach while maintaining the same calm, clear water conditions.

In the water

Like Sosua, the bay protection creates calm swimming conditions with minimal waves. The water is clear and the bottom sandy. Good snorkeling along the western headland. Visibility 10-18 meters.

Getting there

A 5-minute walk west from Sosua Beach along the boardwalk, or accessible directly from the Sosua main road. About 20 minutes from Puerto Plata airport by taxi (RD$2,000-3,000).
