The overview

Overview

The Teleférico (cable car) of Puerto Plata is the only aerial tramway in the Caribbean, whisking visitors 793 meters to the summit of Mount Isabel de Torres for breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic coast and the city below.

At the summit, you'll find a lush botanical garden with tropical plants and flowers, walking trails through cloud forest, and a replica of Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer statue. On clear days, the views stretch from the harbor of Puerto Plata all the way to the mountains of the Cordillera Septentrional.
