Juanillo Beach

Juanillo Beach is located within the Cap Cana resort community, about 15 minutes south of Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). The entrance to Cap Cana is gated, but public access to the beach is permitted.

To enter as a day visitor, tell the security gate that you are going to one of the public restaurants on Juanillo Beach (mention "Juanillo Beach Club" or "Blue Marlin"). You may be asked for your passport or a valid ID. Taxis from the Bavaro hotel zone cost approximately RD$1,500-2,500 (USD $25-45).

From the airport, a taxi directly to Cap Cana runs about RD$1,500-2,000 (USD $25-35). Once inside the development, follow signs to Playa Juanillo. Parking is available near the beach restaurants. The roads within Cap Cana are well-maintained and clearly signed.

Juanillo Beach has more amenities than many Dominican beaches, but some preparation helps:

Weekdays are significantly quieter. Weekend brunches at the beach clubs draw a fashionable crowd of expats and locals, creating a lively social scene that peaks from noon to 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Morning visits (8-11 AM) reward you with empty sand and perfectly calm water for swimming and photography. The golden hour before sunset (5-6 PM) transforms the palm-lined shore into a magical scene perfect for couples.
