In the water
Moderate Caribbean conditions. The freshwater stream creates natural pools near where it meets the sea. Swimming is safe with normal precautions. The mixed fresh and saltwater is refreshing. No lifeguards.
Getting there
In the village of Paraiso, about 45 minutes south of Barahona on the coastal highway. Taxis from Barahona cost RD$1,000-1,500. Part of the scenic Barahona coastal route.
