Bahía de las Águilas (Bay of the Eagles) is widely considered the most beautiful and pristine beach in the Dominican Republic, and possibly in the entire Caribbean. Located within Jaragua National Park in the remote southwest, this 8-kilometer stretch of virgin white sand is backed by arid desert landscape and fronted by impossibly clear turquoise water.
Because there are no roads directly to the beach, access is by boat from the fishing village of La Cueva (about 20 minutes). This isolation has preserved the beach in its natural state — no hotels, no vendors, no structures at all. Just pure, untouched Caribbean paradise. Boat operators provide basic shade and sometimes lunch. Bring everything you need (water, food, snorkeling gear) as there are no facilities.
